AMD reported a massive 68% Revenue Growth For Last Year

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc (AMD) has carried on its strong growth trajectory in yet another blistering earnings report announced only moments ago. After the close of trading today, AMD released its financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2021, revealing that the company increased its annual revenue for FY 2021 by a whopping 68 percent, with revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 exceeding even the most optimistic analysts’ expectations.

AMD’s strong quarterly growth reflects the company’s growing presence in the corporate computing segment, which uses data centers for a variety of purposes, with the company’s Q4 results showing that the data center and enterprise segment is now nearly an equal partner in the company’s revenue pie, alongside AMD’s consumer computing segment.

According to the Santa Clara, California semiconductor company’s Q4 2021 earnings report, it made $4.8 billion in revenue by the end of December 2021. This represented a significant annual growth rate of 49 percent, a figure that has become regular in AMD’s financial reports. AMD’s revenue climbed by 12% in the fourth quarter compared to Q3 2021, according to the report. The chip designer made $4.3 billion in revenue in the third quarter, representing a greater 54 percent annual growth rate and a similar 12 percent sequential growth rate.

AMD also released its financial indicators for the entire fiscal year 2021, in addition to the quarterly numbers. The corporation pulled in $16 billion in revenue after FY2021, representing a stunning 68 percent yearly increase over the previous fiscal year’s data. AMD reported $9.8 billion in revenue for fiscal 2020, a remarkable 45 percent increase over the chipmaker’s revenue in FY2019.

AMD’s enterprise, embedded, and semi-custom division, which includes sales to corporations as well as products found in popular gaming consoles, accounted for the majority of the company’s revenue growth in Q4 2021. According to AMD’s most recent data, the division took in $2.2 billion in revenue in the preceding quarter, representing 75 percent annual and 17 percent sequential growth rates, both of which are higher than AMD’s revenue growth rates during the same period.

The company’s gross margin was also a big success for AMD this quarter. This indicator, which evaluates the percentage of a company’s revenue that remains after direct costs are deducted from total revenue, reached 50% during the quarter, signifying a rare occurrence for it to reach that level. However, the segment’s results for the fiscal year left something to be desired, with a gross margin of 48 percent for FY 2021. AMD, on the other hand, isn’t giving up, predicting that by the conclusion of its current fiscal year, FY2022, its gross margin will have surpassed 50% and will be at 51%.

The Radeon and Ryzen designer is targeting a sales range of $5 billion for the current quarter and $21.5 billion for the full fiscal year 2022, with a gross margin of 50.5 percent for Q1 2022. At the time of publication, its shares were up 9.22% in aftermarket trading.
