AMC’s ‘Soulmates’ Is Coming to Netflix: Your Next Sci-Fi Obsession

If Black Mirror left you craving more mind-bending sci-fi that questions modern relationships and technology, mark November 6 on your calendar. AMC’s critically acclaimed anthology series Soulmates is officially landing on Netflix in the United States, and it’s about to become your next binge-worthy obsession.

Soulmates Essential Series Details

The Premise: Love Meets Algorithm

Here’s the hook: What if science could identify your perfect soulmate with 100% accuracy? Soulmates explores this tantalizing premise through Soul Connex, a company that’s developed “the test”—a breakthrough that flawlessly determines your one true match.

Sound uncomfortably familiar? Fans of Black Mirror’s “Hang the DJ” episode will recognize similar themes, but Soulmates dives deeper into the emotional wreckage this technology leaves behind. Co-created by Brett Goldstein (yes, the Roy Kent himself from Ted Lasso) and Will Bridges, the series examines what happens when certainty replaces chemistry.

Six Dark Tales of Love and Technology

Each self-contained episode tells a complete story with new characters, exploring the profound—and often disturbing—consequences of knowing your “scientifically perfect” match:

The Married Couple’s Dilemma: A seemingly happy marriage falls apart when partners wonder if their relationship is truly “enough” knowing a guaranteed soulmate exists elsewhere.

The Professor’s Nightmare: A man confronts his supposed soulmate, only to discover sinister intentions lurking beneath the surface of “perfect compatibility.”

The Cult Member: After learning his soulmate is already dead, a desperate man joins a cult, spiraling into darkness.

These aren’t heartwarming love stories—they’re cautionary tales about obsession, certainty, and the messy beauty of imperfect human connection. For more thought-provoking series recommendations, explore our sci-fi streaming guide.

A-List Cast Bringing the Drama

Soulmates attracted powerhouse talent across its six episodes:

• Sarah Snook (Succession) as Nikki
• Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami, Peaky Blinders) as Franklin
• David Costabile (Breaking Bad, Billions) as David
• Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Kurt
• Bill Skarsgård (It) as Mateo
• Malin Åkerman (Watchmen) as Martha
• Georgina Campbell (Black Mirror) as Miranda
• Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad) as Caitlin

With this caliber of acting, each episode delivers emotionally charged performances that’ll stick with you long after the credits roll.

Why Only One Season?

AMC initially renewed Soulmates in 2020, but reversed that decision in early 2023. While official reasons remain unclear, the three-year gap between renewal and cancellation speaks volumes. However, anthology series often work best as limited runs—six complete, powerful stories without dilution or stretching.

Part of the AMC-Netflix Partnership

Soulmates arrives through an expanded deal between AMC and Netflix, bringing both classic and recent content to the streaming giant. Other AMC shows already available include Orphan Black, NOS4A2, Parish, and new seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and Dark Winds.

This partnership extends beyond US borders too, with some titles becoming internationally available for the first time. Keep tabs on all streaming updates at TechnoSports.

Watch Before It Disappears

Like other AMC content on Netflix, Soulmates will stream for a limited period—approximately one year based on similar titles like Orphan Black. Don’t add it to your “watch later” list and forget about it!

Don’t miss this thought-provoking series when it drops on Netflix November 6. Your watchlist will thank you!
