Amazon has recently launched a cost-effective version of its popular Prime service in India, known as Amazon Prime Lite. Initially introduced earlier this year to a select group of customers, Amazon Prime Lite offers similar benefits to the regular Prime service but with a few differences and a lower price tag.
All About the Amazon Prime Lite
In India, the Amazon Prime Lite subscription is available as an annual plan priced at ₹999. Unlike the regular Prime service, which provides monthly and quarterly subscription options, Amazon Prime Lite exclusively offers the annual plan. To sign up for Prime Lite, customers can conveniently subscribe through Amazon’s website or mobile apps available for both Android and iOS devices.
Prime Lite members in India will enjoy several benefits, including free two-day delivery and standard delivery with no minimum order requirement. Additionally, they will have access to free no-rush shipping to eligible addresses, along with a cashback of ₹25. There is also an option for morning delivery, although it incurs an additional charge of ₹175 per item.
Furthermore, Amazon Prime Lite members who possess the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card can avail of a 5 percent cashback on purchases made on the platform. However, this excludes digital and gift card purchases as they already provide a 2 percent cashback along with other rewards.
Similar to the regular Amazon Prime service, Prime Lite membership grants access to Prime Video. Subscribers can enjoy a wide range of content in HD quality on two devices, albeit with occasional advertisements. Moreover, Amazon Prime Lite members will benefit from early access to lightning deals, exclusive lightning deals, and deals of the day, ensuring they can seize exciting offers before others.
It is important to note that Amazon Prime Lite offers fewer benefits compared to the regular Prime service, aligning with its more affordable price point. Notable features missing from Prime Lite include one-day delivery, same-day delivery, access to the Prime Reading catalog, ad-free Prime Music, and ad-free Prime Video. Additionally, Prime Lite does not provide “Prime Advantage,” which includes no-cost EMI options and six months of free screen replacement. Furthermore, Amazon Prime Lite excludes free in-game content and Amazon Family offers are available with the regular Prime membership.
