Having announced his signing during the summer transfer window of 2020, Amad Diallo is finally all set to join his teammates at Old Trafford this week. The Ivorian previously had issues with his passport that kept him in Italy.
Those problems have been sorted out now, and the player is reportedly on his way to Rome to sign the contract that officially marks him as a Manchester United player. He will be flying to the city of Manchester in the next few days, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The player primarily operates on the right wing, which is a position that United desperately need options in to not only rotate the squad given the hectic schedule, but to also add quality and share the goalscoring burden alongside fellow teen and right winger, Mason Greenwood.
Diallo has been touted as the next big thing by many past United legends, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also trying ways to work the youngster into the senior squad. At 18, he might not have as much of an impact as Bruno Fernandes had when he joined the club from Sporting CP, but he must be given time to develop into a quality player.
Atalanta wanted to potentially keep the winger until the end of the season, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was insistent on having the player available in the squad as soon as possible.
