Let’s be honest — when a teaser drops and the internet collectively loses its mind within hours, you know something special just happened. That’s exactly what went down today when Yash Raj Films unveiled the first teaser of Alpha, and Alia Bhatt reminded everyone why she is one of the most compelling stars working in Hindi cinema right now.
Directed by Shiv Rawail (of The Railway Men fame) and produced by Aditya Chopra, Alpha marks a historic milestone as the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe. Arriving July 3, 2026, this is the kind of release that shifts the conversation around women in Indian action cinema for good.
What Happens in the Alpha Teaser?
The nearly 2-minute teaser opens deceptively warm — a father and daughter sharing a birthday dinner. Bobby Deol plays the mentor-father figure to Alia’s character Sita. But the warmth quickly cracks open to reveal something much harder: the dinner isn’t a celebration — it’s the launch of her very first mission on her 18th birthday.
Instead of a birthday gift, Sita receives a secret code to a room. Her father reminds her what she was built for since childhood — to be India’s fastest, sharpest, and strongest next-generation soldier. The key line that anchors the entire teaser: “a wolf’s daughter will be a wolf.” Sporting an Alpha tattoo on her forearm, Alia fully embraces this wolf mode.

Why Alpha Could Be a Game-Changer
Alia and Sharvari play parallel leads who are forced to join forces against a ruthless enemy, while Anil Kapoor features in a crucial role. The dual female protagonist setup is rare and bold for a mainstream franchise of this scale.
The YRF Spy Universe — home to Ek Tha Tiger, War, and Pathaan — has always pushed the scale envelope. Alpha looks set to add an emotional, origin-story layer that the franchise has never quite explored before.
