The K-pop world was met with somber news this week as Alpha Drive One’s Geonwoo officially announced a temporary halt to all his activities. The news came directly from the idol himself through a handwritten letter of apology, sparking an outpouring of support from fans globally. While the Idol Industry is known for its intense pace, this pause serves as a reminder of the human toll behind the spotlight.
A Sincere Message to Fans
In his letter, Geonwoo expressed deep regret for causing concern among the group’s fandom, Alpha-X. While the specific nature of the “personal news” remains private to respect his boundaries, the idol emphasized his need to take a step back to reflect and recharge.
He promised to return with a “healthier and more mature image,” asking fans to continue supporting the remaining members of Alpha Drive One during his absence. This level of transparency is rare and reflects a growing trend of idols prioritizing mental and physical well-being.
