The YRF Spy Universe’s first female-led outing hasn’t taken off the way the studio hoped. Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, closed its opening week at just over Rs. 45 crore nett in India after collecting around Rs. 2-2.25 crore on Thursday.
A Familiar Pattern: Strong Weekend, Weak Weekdays
The film opened decently and held up over the weekend, but mixed audience reactions triggered a sharp fall from Monday onward. That weekday collapse is now expected to worsen further as Dhamaal 4 opens and eats into remaining screens.

Alpha : Day-Wise Collections

| Monday | Rs. 3.50 crore |

Why the Struggle?
Female-led action films have historically had a tough time drawing crowds at the Indian box office, and Alpha faced that uphill climb from the start. The film also arrives with the YRF Spy Universe at a low point following softer outings like Tiger 3 and War 2. Trade estimates now suggest Alpha will close its theatrical run somewhere between Rs. 55-60 crore nett — a heavy loss given the film’s scale.
Alpha is the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe, directed by Shiv Rawail in his feature debut, and stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol in lead roles.
