AlmaBetter, an Indian edtech platform, has partnered with NASSCOM to upskill and certify 200,000 professionals in artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies by fiscal year 2030. The announcement coincided with AlmaBetter securing INR 2 crore in strategic funding from a High Net Worth Individual (HNI) educationist.

The new capital will be allocated towards expanding training programs and accessibility across the country. AlmaBetter, which has previously received backing from investors like Kalaari Capital, aims to address the significant talent gap in AI and Big Data Analytics.

According to NASSCOM’s AI Talent Demand–Supply Report, demand for digital talent in India is approximately eight times the available pool of new professionals. This scarcity is further highlighted by a ManPowerGroup Global Talent shortage survey, which indicated that 82% of Indian employers face challenges in recruiting skilled personnel.

The collaboration seeks to integrate AlmaBetter’s specialized courses into NASSCOM’s national skilling framework, including the government-supported FutureSkills Prime platform. Participants will receive joint certifications from NASSCOM and AlmaBetter, aligned with National Occupational Standards (NOS). The programs will offer real-world industry projects, mentorship, and structured career pathways designed to prepare individuals for roles in emerging technologies.

Addressing India’s AI Talent Pipeline

The partnership follows the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where industry leaders and policymakers emphasized the need for a robust AI talent pipeline. Ravi Kumar Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of [AlmaBetter](https://www.almabetter.com/), stated, “India’s ambitions in AI are contingent on developing a workforce capable of applying technology in practical scenarios. Our collaboration with NASSCOM combines industry-recognized credentials, hands-on learning, and placement support to cultivate job-ready AI professionals. With this new strategic funding, our focus is on accelerating product development, broadening access, and scaling industry-ready AI talent nationwide.”

The initiative will deliver experiential project-based learning across critical domains, including Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Cloud Computing, Quantum Computing, and Data Analytics. NASSCOM certifies the curriculum, which has been developed in conjunction with industry practitioners to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application.

This program also aims to enhance career opportunities in emerging technologies for women professionals, first-generation technology aspirants, and individuals transitioning careers, particularly those from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. By establishing a verified talent pool with NASSCOM-accredited credentials, the partnership intends to equip enterprises with professionals capable of supporting AI-driven transformations across various sectors.
