The story follows Arisu, who gets caught up in a strange, empty Tokyo and must play games to survive. As he traverses this treacherous landscape, he meets friends as well as foes. Time distortion is fresh in the dialogue-heavy plot: minutes or days of time spent in this alternate world, compared to actual reality.
A major cliffhanger conclusion to season 2 had left fans wanting more. In September 2023 Netflix announced at last that speculation had ended, and the series was coming back for its third season. Netflix broke the news on Nov. 20 that it plans to release the film sometime in 2025 but does not yet have a specific date set. If you have not watched the first two seasons, now is a good time to do so.
He confirmed that Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya will return as Arisu and Usagi, respectively.
