Alia Bhatt’s Cannes 2026 Red Carpet Look: A 168-Carat Necklace, a Chiffon Dupatta & Pure Desi Pride

If you’ve been waiting for Alia Bhatt to truly show up at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, consider the wait officially over. Her red carpet debut at this year’s opening ceremony was nothing short of a masterclass in blending global haute couture with an unmistakably desi heartbeat.

Alia Bhatt Look: Breaking It Down

Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Alia stepped out in a custom Tamara Ralph silk crêpe corseted column dress in a stunning peach hue, featuring a structured neckline and a plunging cutout that immediately caught the fashion world’s attention.

But here’s the moment that made every Indian’s heart swell with pride — the addition of a chiffon drape that instantly reminded desis of the iconic dupattas that ruled Bollywood songs back in the 90s. On the global stage of Cannes, that was a quiet but powerful cultural statement.

The Jewellery That Stole the Show

Alia wore a rare necklace featuring around 168.27 carats of pink coral with a 5.53 carat diamond at its centre, paired with square-cut diamond earrings from Chopard. That’s not just jewellery — that’s a wearable heirloom.

This was Alia’s third look from Cannes 2026. She had first arrived at the French Riviera in a chic structured black blazer and capris, followed by a sage-green, hand-painted floral gown. Each look a chapter; the red carpet moment, the finale.
