Some friendships show up fullest at the altar — or in this case, a sunset garden wedding. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and filmmaker Sharan Sharma officially tied the knot on July 11, 2026, in an intimate Mumbai ceremony, and best friend Alia Bhatt made sure her presence was felt every step of the way.

The wedding was a private, sunset affair held in the garden of the couple’s own residence, attended only by close friends and family. What made the timing especially sweet: Akansha and Sharan chose to marry on the exact date they began dating four years ago, turning the ceremony into a full-circle moment for the couple.

The vow exchange itself was emotional — Akansha reportedly grew teary-eyed while reciting her promises, with Sharan comforting her with a hug and a kiss mid-ceremony. For the occasion, the bride wore a traditional red and gold bridal ensemble, while the groom kept things classic in white.

Alia Bhatt was clearly all-in on bridesmaid duties. She was seen tying the kalire to Akansha’s chooda ahead of the ceremony — a customary ritual before the bride walks down — and showed up in stunning Indian attire for the occasion. The festivities kicked off earlier with a lively sangeet, where Alia lit up the dance floor performing to the iconic track “Maahi Ve” from Kal Ho Naa Ho, alongside the bride’s sister Anushka Ranjan Kapoor and her husband, Aditya Seal.
