Alexis Sanchez is set to return to Inter Milan in the coming days, after spending one year with Olympique Marseille. The attacker left Inter in 2022 to make the move to France, and will complete the medical tests for his return in the coming days.
He will be signing a short-term deal as a free agent after returning to the Nerazzurri, and will be the replacement for Joaquin Correa who has joined Marseille on a loan deal with a buy option.
Alexis Sanchez to return to Inter Milan as a free agent
“It’s a pleasure that Sanchez wants to return. He’s truly a champion, he has great passion for his work. He left reluctantly and now he’s signalling his return. This is true,” Inter director Beppe Marotta recently said.
Alexis Sanchez was in fine form this past season, scoring 18 goals in 44 appearances for Marseille. At 34, he is still showing that he can perform at the top level, but will likely have a reduced role in the squad upon his return to San Siro.
The forward spent three years with Inter Milan during his first spell with them after initially joining them on loan from Manchester United. Things didn’t work out for him with United, which caused him to secure a transfer to Inter where he managed to turn things around. And now, he will be returning for another spell with the club having won the Serie A during their first time together.
