Son of Sardaar 2 Release Date Announced: Ajay Devgn’s Turbaned Avatar Returns to Theatres

After much anticipation, the Son of Sardaar 2 Release Date has finally been revealed, setting the stage for Ajay Devgn’s return in his beloved sardaar avatar. Fans who had been eagerly waiting for updates on the sequel were taken by surprise when Ajay made the official announcement on Thursday.

Bringing back the flavour of the original but with a completely fresh storyline, Son of Sardaar 2 promises to deliver a power-packed action comedy experience. The film is all set to hit cinemas on July 25, igniting excitement among movie lovers and Ajay Devgn admirers alike.

First Look Poster Reveals Ajay’s Bold New Look

The confirmation of the Son of Sardaar 2 Release Date came with an eye-catching poster shared by Ajay Devgn on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The striking image features Ajay wearing a traditional turban, standing confidently atop two massive army tanks, with his iconic moustache twirl on full display.

Captioning the post, the actor wrote, “The Return of the Sardaar (fire emoticon) #SOS2 in cinemas near you on 25th July.” This single reveal was enough to spark widespread anticipation across social media, with fans celebrating the return of their favourite sardaar on the big screen.

Fresh Storyline With New Faces

Unlike many Bollywood sequels that continue existing narratives, Son of Sardaar 2 starts afresh. While the 2012 hit featured Sonakshi Sinha opposite Ajay, the sequel introduces Mrunal Thakur as the new leading lady. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the movie promises an original storyline packed with high-octane sequences, sharp humour, and family-friendly entertainment.

The decision to take a new creative direction ensures that Son of Sardaar 2 stands on its own, attracting both loyal fans of the original and fresh audiences.

Casting Controversies Surround the Project

Despite the hype surrounding the Son of Sardaar 2 Release Date, the film’s production has not been without its share of controversies. According to reports by Pinkvilla, Vijay Raaz was allegedly removed from the cast due to unprofessional conduct. Adding to the drama, Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt was initially set to star in the film alongside Ajay Devgn. However, visa-related complications resulted in his replacement by Ravi Kishan.

Originally, Ajay and Sanjay were supposed to portray the characters Billu and Jassi, adding more weight to the ensemble cast. Nevertheless, Ravi Kishan’s entry has infused fresh energy into the team, and filming has been proceeding steadily.

Ajay Devgn’s Packed Release Calendar

The announcement of the Son of Sardaar 2 Release Date comes as Ajay Devgn continues to maintain a busy schedule in Bollywood. Before Son of Sardaar 2 arrives in theatres, Ajay is also gearing up for the release of Maa, a thriller co-produced by him and directed by Vishal Furia. Starring Kajol in the lead, Maa tells the emotional story of a protective mother battling mysterious threats to save her daughter. Maa is set to release on June 27, just weeks before Son of Sardaar 2.

Earlier this year, Ajay was seen in Raid 2, reprising his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik. With memorable performances alongside Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh, Raid 2 further strengthened Ajay’s reputation for balancing intense roles with lighter, comedic characters like the sardaar.

Why Son of Sardaar 2 Is Generating Buzz

The combination of Ajay’s magnetic screen presence, Vijay Kumar Arora’s direction, and the anticipation generated by the Son of Sardaar 2 Release Date reveal has made this sequel one of the most awaited comedies of the year. The poster’s vibrant design, hinting at larger-than-life action sequences, paired with a refreshing new storyline, suggests that audiences are in for an entertaining ride.

With the countdown now officially underway, the stage is perfectly set for Son of Sardaar 2 to make its theatrical debut and dominate the box office.
