Significance of Ahoi Ashtami

Ahoi Ashtami is a day of devotion and sacrifice, observed by mothers who fast to seek blessings for their children’s well-being. The festival’s roots lie in an ancient tradition where mothers sought the protection of their sons, but over time, it has evolved to include prayers for both sons and daughters.
