‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ Season 2: Renewal Talks Underway After Smash Hit Debut

Agent Kim Reactivated just became one of Netflix’s biggest K-drama hits of 2026, and Studio S is now actively discussing a second season. Here’s everything confirmed so far.

Agent Kim Reactivated: Overview

The Story

Agent Kim Reactivated follows a single father and former black-ops operative living a quiet life as a company manager — until his daughter Min-ji is kidnapped. Once he learns the truth, Agent Kim turns ruthless, willing to destroy anyone standing between him and rescuing her.

Where Renewal Talks Stand

Studio S has confirmed that positive discussions are underway for Season 2, though nothing is finalized yet since Season 1 only just wrapped. The studio noted that a detailed production schedule hasn’t been set, asking fans for patience while updates are ironed out.

A Genuine Ratings Phenomenon

The show has performed remarkably well both domestically and globally. In South Korea, it launched with a 9.5% nationwide rating and climbed to 23.1% by episode eight. On Netflix, it spent four weeks on the Non-English Global Top 10, ranking No. 1 for three of those weeks, and racked up 189.4 million viewing hours (34.4 million completed views) — nearly double its closest 2026 K-drama competitor, My Royal Nemesis.

Plenty of Source Material Left

With only 45 of the webtoon’s 251 chapters adapted so far, there’s more than enough story to sustain multiple future seasons if the show keeps performing.

Expected Cast for Season 2

So Ji Sub is expected to return as Manager Kim, alongside Choi Dae Hoon, Yoon Kyung Ho, Son Na Eun, and Seo Su Min as his daughter Min-ji.

When Could Season 2 Arrive?

Based on Season 1’s production window (November 2025 to May 2026), Season 2 could realistically land sometime in the second half of 2027 or early 2028, pending an official production start date.
