About Nice to Not Meet You

Premise: This romantic comedy follows the complicated relationship between Lim Hyeon Jun, an A-list actor who’s lost touch with his roots, and Wi Jeong Sin, an award-winning political journalist demoted to the entertainment desk.

Main Cast:

Lee Jung Jae (Squid Game) as Lim Hyeon Jun – A national treasure actor struggling with identity
Lim Ji Yeon (The Glory) as Wi Jeong Sin – A justice-driven journalist turned entertainment reporter
Kim Ji Hoon as Lee Jae Hyung – Hyeon Jun’s half-brother
Seo Ji Hye as Yoon Hwa Young – A global superstar and Hyeon Jun’s ex

The drama premiered November 3, 2025, on tvN and has been praised for Lee Jung Jae’s unexpected comedic timing and the crackling chemistry between the leads despite their 14-year age gap.

The Secret Friend Connection

What makes this confession particularly powerful is their backstory. The pair first bonded anonymously through a secondhand trading app, becoming “secret friends” who confided in each other about life’s troubles without knowing they were talking to their real-life nemesis.

When Hyeon Jun revealed himself as “Romance Master,” it shattered Wi Jeong Sin’s perception and forced both to confront genuine feelings they’d been suppressing behind professional animosity and digital screens.

Why Fans Are Obsessed

Despite initial skepticism about the pairing, viewers have embraced Nice to Not Meet You for its depth beneath the rom-com surface. Lee Jung Jae brings effortless charisma to a role that showcases his comedic versatility, while Lim Ji Yeon perfectly balances strength and vulnerability.

The show tackles meaningful themes—losing yourself to fame, rebuilding identity, and choosing authenticity over image—wrapped in delightfully silly romantic comedy moments. Episode 8 has been particularly praised as a “gem” by fans for its humor and heart.
