AFC has now officially confirmed that they have chosen Kolkata as the centralised venue for the South Zone Group D matches of the AFC Cup 2022. All the matches will be hosted at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) in Kolkata.

- Bashundhara Kings (Bangladesh)
- Maziya Sports and Recreation Club (Maldives)
- The winner of a six-team South Asian contest (Indian club ATK Mohun Bagan is expected to qualify for this spot)
AFC Cup 2022 Group D matches will be held in Kolkata
The match qualifying match for the Group D fourth sport will be held on 12th April 12 at the VYBK Kolkata. If ATKMB wins then the match on 19th April will also be held in Kolkata. Meanwhile, the group stage matches of the AFC Cup 2022 have been scheduled from 18th-24th April.
Kushal Das, General Secretary of AIFF said: “We thank the Asian Football Confederation for their belief in our organisational capabilities and confirming Kolkata as one of the centralised venues for the AFC Cup 2022. This makes great sense because Gokulam Kerala will be in Kolkata till finishing the I-League on May 15, and preparatory camp for the Blue Tigers is also scheduled for Kolkata.”
He further added: “It is a double celebration time for the passionate fans in Kolkata as the AFC Cup Group D matches will be followed by India’s final round matches of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers from June 8-14, 2022.”
