His next Netflix project is Time Out — a deeply unsettling psychological drama directed by Scott Cooper, and the cast attached to it makes this one of the most anticipated films of 2027.

What Is Time Out About?
Time Out is an English-language remake of Laurent Cantet’s acclaimed 2001 French film L’Emploi du temps. The story follows Vincent, a man who loses his long-time consulting job but cannot bring himself to tell his family. Instead, he invents an elaborate fictional career — complete with fake business trips, a prestigious-sounding position in Geneva, and shady investment schemes to maintain the family’s lifestyle.
What starts as desperate self-preservation quietly unravels into a psychological trap of his own making. The film explores the crushing weight of identity tied to professional success, the suffocating expectations of community, and how far a person will go to protect an illusion. Think: Uncut Gems energy but grounded in quiet domestic dread. For more upcoming Netflix thriller releases, check out our full coverage at TechnoSports.

The Creative Team
Director Scott Cooper will also write and produce, joined by veteran producer Jon Kilik (The Hunger Games, Foxcatcher) and executive producer Tracey Landon (Maestro). Cinematographer Masanobu Takayanagi, Cooper’s long-time collaborator on Hostiles and The Pale Blue Eye, will handle visuals — promising the film’s signature cold, atmospheric tension.
