Why the Name Change?
SAG-AFTRA — the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists — officially retired the “SAG Awards” name in favour of Actor Awards, inspired by its iconic bronze statuette. The union says the rebrand offers “clearer recognition” for the public while keeping the spirit of the ceremony fully intact.
