Aasha Twitter Review: Netizens Call Urvashi’s Performance the Soul of This Malayalam Mystery Drama

Urvashi is back with a bang, and Twitter can’t stop talking about it. Aasha, the new Malayalam mystery drama starring Urvashi, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, hit theatres on September 11, 2026 — and early viewer reactions are already flooding social media with mixed but mostly glowing verdicts.

What Are Netizens Saying?

Most reviewers agree on one thing: Urvashi owns this film. One user called it a genuinely engaging watch, praising the entire cast while singling out Urvashi’s performance as the highlight. Another viewer noted that her character’s intent becomes crystal clear within the first ten minutes, calling her a legendary performer whose work is hard to put into words.

A third reaction described Aasha as a gripping psychological thriller anchored by Urvashi, praising how well the film balances emotion, sound design, and visuals — calling it a treat for Malayalam cinema lovers.

Not every review was glowing, though. One viewer felt the film played like a short-film concept stretched to two hours — strong in its thriller setup and first half, but let down by a repetitive, less logical second half and a underwhelming climax. Still, they credited Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi for solid supporting performances.

The Story in Brief

Her refusal to back down triggers a bitter confrontation that pulls her family — including her younger daughter Anakha — into a dangerous chain of events shaped by Aasha’s own rigid past choices. The supporting cast includes Vijayaraghavan, Joy Mathew, Ramesh Girija, and Alexander Prasanth.
