Apple’s iPhone 12 was released in the market a month ago and with the device came along the beast. That’s right. We are talking about Apple’s A14 Bionic, the current undisputed champion of mobile processors. Earlier the title was held by A13 bionic, and everyone was calling A13 the beast. Then the only term suitable for A14 Bionic will be a monster.
In benchmark scores, A13 Bionic already beat every processor in the market when it was launched. Now, however, Apple’s A14 Bionic shattered them all like a piece of glass. Even Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 888, cannot beat A14 Bionic in benchmark scores.
According to sources, the latest benchmark score indicates that Apple’s A14 Bionic is hugely faster than Snapdragon 888. Not only that, the Snapdragon 888 even falls behind the A13 Bionic. Well, in Spandragon 888’s defense, it still is faster than its predecessors, which is a real big deal.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 is based on a 5nm architecture and features one ARM Cortex X-1 core and three ARM Cortex-A78 cores. It is capable of reaching up to 2.84GHz and also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6.
Apple’s A14 Bionic scores 1603 in the single-core performance, and in the multi-core performance, Snapdragon 888 got a score of 3794 compared to the Snapdragon 865 Plus’ 3245. Roughly, this is a 17 percent jump. But it is still no match for Apple’s A14 Bionic that received a massive 4187 in the multi-thread performance.
In terms of GPU power, Snapdragon 888 is not only unable to beat Apple’s A14 Bionic but also falls behind the A13 Bionic. But as we all know, these are just test results and should not be compared with real-world performance. However, for those who don’t know, it was previously reported that Snapdragon 888 beats A14 Bionic in terms of performance, but the current benchmark scores say otherwise. Only time will tell who will prevail among the two.
