What is the highest internet speed you ever experienced? Whatever it is, I can assure you the speed is way far than the highest one. Earlier, the highest internet was recorded in Australia and that was 44.3 Tbps. Now, a new record is just set providing four times speed than the past.

The researchers of the University College London set the new record and the speed is 178 terabits per second (Tbps) or you can say 178,000 Gbps. The entire project is conducted by Dr. Lidia Galdino who is from the Royal Academy of Engineering, Xtera and Kiddi Research.

The UCL researchers implemented a higher range of wavelengths, rather than optical fibers, along with newer amplified technology to achieve this goal. The bandwidth of 128 Tbps speed is 16.8THz.

If you are wondering how fast the newly recorded speed is, let you know India’s overall average internet speed is 6.5 Mbps. You can check it from here. Hope you understand the difference by comparing the average internet speed we get in our country with the highest speed.

With the internet of this speed can be used for educational purposes as well as business and entertainment purposes simultaneously. Let us know what you will do if you luckily get this much of speed.
