Some milestones aren’t about what’s new — they’re about what’s finally catching up to a legacy. Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali, one of Pune’s long-standing educational institutions, inaugurated and named its new, modern campus today, drawing a gathering of ministers, educators, and RSS leadership under one roof.
What the Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali Campus Is Built For
The campus isn’t just a facility upgrade — it’s designed as a hub bringing together management education, skill development, modern technology, research, innovation, and the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) under a single umbrella. The goal, as institution leaders framed it, is meeting the evolving demands of education while keeping students rooted in Indian values and tradition.
| Quick Facts | Details |
|---|---|
| Institution | Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali |
| Location | Pune, Maharashtra |
| Chief Guest | Chandrakant Dada Patil, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra |
| Campus Named By | Suresh (Bhaiyyaji) Joshi, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini |
| Focus Areas | Management education, skill development, AI, IKS |
| Policy Alignment | National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 |
Who Showed Up, and What They Said
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis sent a video message expressing confidence the campus would help implement NEP 2020 and advance the Indian Knowledge System within mainstream education. Chairman Sudhir Kalkar spoke about balancing tradition with future-ready learning, while institution President Adv. Sadanand Phadke pushed a broader point — that education should build capable, nation-focused individuals, not just job-seekers.
Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil weighed in on mother-tongue education and value-based learning rooted in discipline, tying the campus’s mission directly to NEP 2020’s emphasis on preserving India’s knowledge traditions alongside modern skills.
Why This Matters Beyond Pune
The event reflects a broader shift happening across Indian higher education — institutions actively working to blend AI and emerging technology with the Indian Knowledge System, rather than treating them as separate tracks. For those tracking how India’s education policy is reshaping campuses nationwide, Wikipedia’s page on the National Policy on Education traces the evolution from the original 1968 policy through to NEP 2020.
