A Brother Walks Into the Lab, and “Between Steps” Just Got Complicated

Every secret romance has one dangerous moment: the surprise visitor. In ENA’s “Between Steps,” that visitor is a talkative older brother, and Park Min Jae looks as confused as we’d be.

Between Steps: Drama Snapshot

Where We Left Off?

In the previous episode, Im Yoo Jin’s sincere feelings for Park Min Jae came out. She reached out to understand the pain he carries and kissed him through tears. The big question now is whether Min Jae can accept her feelings.

The Surprise Visitor

The new stills show Im Yoo Sung (Kim Min Seok), Yoo Jin’s older brother, visiting the research lab. Min Jae looks puzzled by the unexpected guest, while Yoo Sung walks in with a curious expression. Another photo shows the siblings in Professor Lee Ji Hoon’s (Jang In Sub) lab, with Yoo Sung chattering excitedly and a visibly flustered Yoo Jin.

Why Yoo Jin Is Nervous?

Earlier, Yoo Sung found a couple ring Yoo Jin had been keeping and began suspecting that his sister might be dating someone. Since he’s already curious about her love life, his personal visit to the university makes it possible that her relationship with Min Jae could be exposed.

The Emotional Tug-of-War

Despite Yoo Jin’s openly affectionate moves, Min Jae stays cautious. She’s the one making the first move, while he struggles to open up because of his own feelings and past emotional wounds. The production team teased that in Episode 5 her straightforward pursuit continues, and the two will go through another delicate tug-of-war.

What to Watch For?

• How Min Jae reacts to meeting her brother
• Whether Yoo Sung connects the ring to Min Jae
• Whether Min Jae finally lowers his guard
