Honor is reportedly developing two foldable smartphones aimed at the Chinese market: the Magic V2 Flip and the Magic V5. Earlier reports from February suggested that the V2 Flip should drop in June, but there hasn’t been any recent update confirming a release this month. Meanwhile, the Chinese tech blogger Guan just leaked that the Magic V5 will be launched by the end of June.

Honor Magic V5 foldable phone tipped to launch by June end alongside Watch 5 Ultra in China
The tipster also noted that Honor CEO Li Jian accidentally disclosed some information about a new flagship smartwatch. The watch, which debuted internationally in March, will soon be available in China. This is believed to be the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, which is made of titanium and was released with ECG capabilities all around the world in March. According to the insider, the Watch 5 Ultra will hit the shelves in China by the end of June, likely in conjunction with the Magic V5 foldable phone. The event is also anticipated to feature new earbuds, tablets, and PCs.
Last month, Honor’s flagship mobile phone product manager, Li Kun, hinted on Weibo that the Magic V5 will set new standards for slimness and lightweight design. He also said that the phone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
The device that may carry the model number MHB-AN10 has already received approvals from Chinese certifications 3C and MIIT, which probably means its battery will have a capacity larger than 6,000mAh, and the phone will have support for 66W charging.
Other sources indicate that the Honor Magic V5 will have a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with an 8-inch foldable inner screen boasting 2K resolution and the same 120Hz refresh rate.
On the rear, the phone is expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an ultra-wide sensor, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Additional features may include wireless charging, satellite messaging capability, IPX8 water resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
