India’s esports giant S8UL is making waves once again — this time by stepping into the Fatal Fury competitive scene with the signing of seasoned fighting game veteran Marcoantonio Malpica, better known as Yurikov. This strategic move not only expands S8UL’s global footprint but also solidifies its presence across eight top-tier esports titles at the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh.

S8UL Enters the Fatal Fury Arena with Veteran Fighter Yurikov: A New Chapter in Global Esports Domination

Meet Yurikov: The Fighting Game Community Legend

Yurikov is no stranger to the fighting game world. A Peruvian-American competitor with over a decade of professional experience, he has been a formidable force since 2012. Rising to prominence in iconic titles like The King of Fighters and Guilty Gear Strive, Yurikov has seamlessly transitioned into Fatal Fury, bringing with him a legacy of adaptability, consistency, and fierce competitive spirit.

With over 400 matches under his belt, Yurikov’s tournament victories include prestigious events such as Summer Jam 2023, South Louisiana Major 2023, and Heat Wave 2022 – Northeast Championship 22. Now, under the S8UL banner, he’s set to represent India’s premier esports organization on the global stage.

“From solo queues to the big leagues. Joining S8UL is a whole new chapter. I’ve always moved with purpose — now it’s time to do it with a team that shares the vision. Let’s make history,” said Marcoantonio “Yurikov” Malpica.

S8UL’s Expanding Esports Empire

Yurikov’s signing marks S8UL’s first foray into Fatal Fury, complementing their already impressive roster across multiple esports genres. The organization is known for its dominance in mobile esports and content creation, but this move signals a bold ambition to build a multi-genre, global esports legacy.

S8UL’s current competitive lineup for EWC 2025 includes:

  • Apex Legends: Rick Wirth (Sharky), Benjamin Spaseski (Jesko), Tom Canty (Legacy)
  • Call of Duty: Warzone: Colin Bowers-Wilson (Trikempathy), Braxton Trice (Braxtvn), Ryder Skarzinski (Ryda)
  • Chess: Nihal Sarin, Aravindh Chithambaram
  • EAFC25: Jonas Wirth (Jonny), Aaron Rivera (Happy)
  • Fatal Fury: Marcoantonio Malpica (Yurikov)
  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang: Michael Cosgun (MobaZane), Ian Hohl (FwydChickn), Jang Seong-hun (Hoon), Ziameth-Jei Caluya (ZIA), Vo Trung (Shark), Carlos Ortega Vega (Bestplayer1)
  • Starcraft II: Pyung Jae Koh (GuMiho)
  • Tekken 8: Arja Gamoori (Sephiblack), Nino Schwarz (Nino)

A Vision for the Future of Indian Esports

Animesh Agarwal, aka 8Bit Thug, Co-founder and CEO of S8UL, shared his excitement: “Esports is evolving rapidly, and staying ahead means not just following trends, but setting them. At S8UL, we’ve always believed in backing talent that can lead across eras, not just tournaments. Been watching Yurikov cook for a while — always knew he was built different. Welcome to the family, hermano.”

The Road to EWC 2025: Fatal Fury’s Biggest Stage

The Esports World Cup 2025 will feature 16 of the world’s best Fatal Fury players battling for a share of the $1 million (approx. ₹8.5 crore) prize pool from July 10 to 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With Yurikov representing S8UL, India’s esports scene is poised to make a powerful statement on this prestigious global platform.

Why This Matters for Indian Esports

S8UL’s expansion into Fatal Fury and other major esports titles highlights the rapid growth and diversification of India’s competitive gaming landscape. As one of the country’s most celebrated esports organizations, S8UL is not just competing — it’s leading the charge to elevate Indian esports to unprecedented international heights.
