Apple to Expand Retail Stores in India Later in 2025

Apple has revealed plans to expand its retail presence in India in the near future. The company currently operates two Apple Stores in the country—one in New Delhi and another in Mumbai—and is preparing to open additional locations soon. The news was disclosed by Apple CEO Tim Cook during the company’s quarterly earnings call for Q2 2025.

Cook also said that the tech giant plans to open more stores in India later this year, and opened stores in the UAE and made a push online in Saudi Arabia. His testimony did not detail the specific count or locations of the new Indian shops, but a recent filing indicated that the iPhone-maker is working on at least four new Apple Stores in the country, which could be erected in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Noida. The tech giant has already obtained locations in two of these cities, these reports claim.

One store is expected to open at Kopa Mall in Pune, while another is likely to be established at the Mall of India in Noida. In the meantime, it appears to still be snooping about locations in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

If true, the new Mumbai store will be the second in the city after the in Apple store BKC. Apple’s current stores — Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi — opened on 18th and 20th April, 2023. Each represented major building blocks in Apple’s continued foray into retail in India.

Besides retail plans, Cook said that the tech giant is expanding local manufacturing in India. For the upcoming June quarter, he said the majority of iPhones sold in the United States will be manufactured in India. He added that nearly all iPads, Macs, Watches, and AirPods sold in the US will come from Vietnam, highlighting the company’s broader efforts to diversify its supply chain.
