Kriti Sanon Likely to Join Ranveer Singh in Don 3 as Farhan Akhtar Prepares for Grand Comeback

The iconic Don franchise is gearing up for an exciting revival, and the buzz surrounding Don 3 has officially taken over Bollywood chatter. After confirming Ranveer Singh as the new face of the titular role, stepping into the shoes of legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, the film’s producers have been meticulously piecing together a stellar cast and dynamic locations.

Now, it appears Kriti Sanon is the top contender to play the female lead, a role once immortalized by Zeenat Aman and Priyanka Chopra.

Kriti Sanon in Talks to Play Roma

According to reports, Kriti Sanon is the leading choice to star opposite Ranveer Singh in Don 3. The National Award-winning actress has reportedly agreed in principle and is expected to sign the contract in the coming weeks.

A source close to the development stated, “Farhan Akhtar and the creative team of Excel Entertainment were looking to cast an experienced actress with a screen presence on board Don 3, and Kriti Sanon fits the bill like hand in glove. She has the aura to play Roma on screen, and is excited to sign the dotted lines soon.”

This update comes after Kiara Advani, who was initially finalized for the role, had to step down due to her pregnancy. Kriti’s involvement adds a fresh energy to the franchise, with fans eager to see her step into this intense, action-driven avatar.

Farhan Akhtar Returns to Direction

Marking a decade since his last directorial venture, Farhan Akhtar is set to return behind the camera for Don 3. Known for his stylish and gripping storytelling, Akhtar’s comeback is among the most anticipated events in Hindi cinema.

The director has reportedly already scouted major international locations for the shoot. “Don 3 will be shot largely in Europe and the locations are already closed. The script is also locked, and all that remains now is slight polishing alongside the action design. The pre-production work will go on for the next few months, and the team is aiming to take the film on floors by October/November 2025,” the source revealed.

An international stunt team is being assembled to raise the bar for action choreography, promising high-octane sequences that rival global standards.

Sanon’s Packed Schedule Before Don 3

Before diving into Don 3, Kriti Sanon has a busy slate to wrap up. She is currently filming for Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai, and also has Cocktail 2 under the banner of Dinesh Vijan’s production house. Additionally, she is reportedly in discussions for a horror thriller titled Nai Naveli, also with Rai, which is expected to release in 2026.

This packed schedule showcases the actress’s versatility and growing stature in the industry, making her an ideal pick for a franchise that demands a strong, charismatic lead.

The Don universe is known for reinvention and flair. Each generation of the franchise has brought something unique to the table—be it Bachchan’s brooding intensity or Shah Rukh Khan’s slick charm. Now, with Ranveer Singh’s magnetic screen presence and Kriti Sanon’s growing influence, the third installment aims to blend legacy with contemporary appeal.
