You heard that right, gamers! While we were all busy trying to catch ’em all in Pokémon Sword and Shield, Nintendo’s wizards were already cooking up the next big thing. Sources close to the project have spilled the beans that development on the Switch 2 kicked off even before 2019. Talk about playing the long game!

But wait, there’s more! Let’s break down this timeline that’s more twisted than a Mario Kart track:

What’s in a Name? The “Super Nintendo Switch” That Never Was

Prepare for a nostalgia overload! Word on the street is that Nintendo seriously considered naming their new baby the “Super Nintendo Switch.” Can you imagine the retro feels? Here’s a quick rundown of the naming drama:

1. Super Nintendo Switch: The nostalgic throwback that almost was
2. Nintendo Switch 2: The straightforward choice that won out
3. Switch Up: A rumored contender that didn’t make the cut
4. Nintendo Ultra: Another speculated name that faded into obscurity

In the end, they kept it simple with “Nintendo Switch 2.” But let’s be honest, we’d buy it even if they called it “The Miyamoto Magic Box.”
