On the back of Granit Xhaka’s annual sending off incident recently, the former Captain has once again been linked with a transfer away from the club. Inter Milan have been linked with his services if he departs the Emirates during the upcoming winter transfer window, or during the summer of 2021.
Speaking on the Swiss international’s future at the club, and addressing the rumours linking him to Inter, Fabrizio Romano made it clear that there are no current negotiations between the two clubs for Xhaka. The information comes via episode 17 of Romano’s Patreon exclusive podcast, “Here We Go”.
The Italian transfer guru acknowledged that Inter manager Antonio Conte admires the player. Addressing a similar situation, Romano squashed all rumours linking Christian Eriksen with a move to Arsenal.
According to him, Arsenal are not interested in bringing the former Spurs player to the club. The Dane looks set to leave Milan after a lack of playing time under Conte, and a move could happen as soon as January.
However, PSG will be one of the big names to watch out for due to their demand for a number 10 to help take the creative burden off of the shoulders of the forwards and add a third of an attacking mindset to their defensively stacked midfield.Â
To make things even more favourable, Paris’ technical director Leonardo is a fan of Eriksen and would want a player of his stature and experience to join the club. A move from the French Champions looks much more likely in this case, especially owing to their financial strength.Â
