Disney Plus is collecting Disney’s products over the years and offers various digital content for its subscribers. The service was launched in 2019, and at the time of its launch, the company had a straightforward idea. It would provide its users with digital content; the subscribers would stay subscribed to view the content, and naturally, new content would be added now and then.
The contents streamed by Disney Plus will also help its other projects. The company is planning to increase its merchandise in its theme parks and online stores. The merchandise will be based on all the shows available on Disney Plus. The company is heavily investing in its steaming service.
The pandemic’s initial days made the industry realize the importance of streaming; thus, the company finally decided to get serious. Its more than $100 billion worth of acquisitions, which the company amassed over 15 years, are all poured into making the streaming service one of the biggest names in the field.
But things were not simple during the pandemic. As the film industry took a significant hit, the company ran out of exclusive content to stream. But the competitors in the market were increasing, but Netflix and Amazon Prime were getting prominent day by day, and a new name like HBO Max was entering the business.
But, Disney finally revealed why the company is such a massive brand in Hollywood. It will now stream its all projects, an amalgamation of its nearly $100 billion worth of acquisitions over the last 15 years. All the Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar projects, all based around multi-billion dollar franchises adored by kids and adults worldwide, will all appear in Disney Plus.
Not only that, but the movies that would have gone to theaters are now Disney Plus exclusives, and Disney’s various TV divisions will supply a stream of shows. And guess what? Disney’s executives have said that this is only just the beginning, and as new shows and movies make their way, the streaming service will go to extreme new heights. And the service is planning to do it for just $8 a month.
