Arek Milik is for sure on his way out of Naples in either of the upcoming transfer windows. The striker was reportedly on the verge of joining Roma or Juventus, considering the departures of Higuain and pursuit of Eden Dzeko by the Serie A champions.
Fabrizio and Francesco Romano talked about the topic on episode 16 of their Patreon exclusive podcast, “Here We Go”. The duo clearly mentioned that the Polish striker wanted to leave, as the player has confirmed himself.
“Now, I’ll wait for the next transfer window and I hope the clubs can find and understanding. Physically I’m fine, I have trained well individually,” Milik said in October.
“I will play matches with the national side. In three months, my form won’t be too much affected.”
The striker joined Napoli after leaving Ajax for about 30 million pounds in 2016. He has since been completely frozen out of the squad and has not even featured once this season, owing to a suspension from all competitions till 2021.
During his time at Napoli, Milik has managed to score 48 goals and provide 5 assists from 128 games in all competitions. AC Milan, Juventus and Roma were all linked with the forward this summer, but he ended up staying.
If there is no offer for him in January, he will be free to leave next summer since his contract expires. Spurs was previously touted as a possible destination for him, but considering the signing of Vinicius by the London club, a move to Spurs would see him starved for playing time.
There are no particular updates regarding the interested parties, but many clubs in Europe will be looking out for the 26-year-old, especially considering he will be available for no transfer fees soon.
