The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to launch later this week, but leaks regarding next year’s Galaxy S26 lineup are already making waves online. Samsung has kept a fairly consistent setup of front-facing cameras in the last few years, but there are some rumors of a monster upgrade coming with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to early prototypes, the S26 Ultra will not have a visible cutout for the selfie camera, suggesting that the next Ultra may have a Under Display Camera (UDC) like that of the Galaxy Z Fold series.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Rumored to Feature Under-Display Camera and 200MP Telephoto
Most recently, tipster Kro on X (previously Twitter) stated that Samsung is working on a UDC for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and shared the prototype display with no notch or hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera. The first Galaxy Fold device to include this tech was the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and it’s since included in other foldables, such as the Z Fold 4 and 5. UDC technology essentially makes the camera disappear under the display it is so to say hidden away behind the display so the viewers are uninterrupted with the cut out of a camera.
Its main use is for video calls and facial recognition for unlocking the phone. In addition to the rumored UDC, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to be getting a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, which will be equipped with a 1/1.5-inch sensor. It would give you exceptional zoom and image quality. There will be, fast wired charging at 65W, which is an increase from the 45W we expect to see in this year’s Galaxy S25 series.
Samsung is also said to be introducing the latest Colour Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology, which could improve light transmittance and reduce power consumption. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may run on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon chipset, while the non-Ultra models are expected to feature Samsung’s own Exynos processors. This would mark a major shift in the hardware powering the Galaxy series in 2024.
