Exciting news for the Wizarding World enthusiasts! On January 30, 2025, Hogwarts Legacy will receive an official PC modding update, allowing players to customize and expand their magical adventures like never before.

Official Modding Support and Creator Kit

The upcoming free update introduces built-in mod support, enabling players to:

Access and download mods directly from the in-game menu
Utilize the Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit to craft new quests, dungeons, cosmetics, and character skins

The Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit will be available for free on the Epic Games Store. Mods created with this tool can be shared and downloaded via the CurseForge platform, which will host and curate all user-generated content. To access these mods, players must link their Steam or Epic Games Store accounts to a Warner Bros. Games account. Account linking can be done through the official Warner Bros. Games website.

Pre-Launch Mods and Community Collaboration

In anticipation of the modding update, Avalanche Software has collaborated with select mod creators to develop content ready for launch. Players can look forward to:

“Dungeon of Doom”: A new dungeon filled with combat challenges and hidden secrets
Broom replacement mods: Offering alternative flying experiences
Expanded character creation options
Enhanced outfit customization

These initial offerings are just the beginning, as the modding community is expected to create a vast array of content to enrich the game.

Hogwarts Legacy’s Continued Success

Over 30 million copies sold, making it the best-selling game of 2023
Availability across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC

Rumors suggest that a Definitive Edition with an additional 10-15 hours of content is in development, aiming to extend the game’s longevity while a potential sequel is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.

For those interested in creating mods, the Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit offers a streamlined version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor, simplifying the mod creation and sharing process. Features include:

Cloud cooking capabilities: Automatically processes and prepares mods for in-game use
