OnePlus Open 2 Leaked: 9.2mm Thickness, New Design Revealed

With global availability, Oppo’s Find N3 was also renamed to OnePlus Open, although it is a book-style foldable from the company with its last update arriving in 2023. At launch, it raised the bar for what foldable could offer, with a high-resolution display in a unique design and cameras to match.

But in 2024, OnePlus did not reveal any successor, making Open still competitive but slightly outdone by competitors, namely Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and the Google Pixel 9 Pro in India. After Oppo Chief Product Officer Pete Lau teased the Find N5 with thin-profile pencil images, new images appeared on the web, and the new device may either be the Find N5 or OnePlus Open 2.

OnePlus Open 2 Leaks: 9.2mm Thickness Unfolded, New Design and Camera Layout Revealed

Tipster @RODENT950 posted a few pictures on X (formerly Twitter) of a foldable phone that looks like the Oppo Find N3. This includes aspects that may not be official and reiterates that while the device appears to be a near-replica of the Find N3, there is no confirmation that it will be hailed as the OnePlus Open 2.

In one image, we see the device folded, revealing slim halves and a short hinge at the top. Another image depicts the phone from a top-down angle in a case with volume buttons and the power button in familiar positions, plus a USB-C port. Now, the camera layout has shifted from the triangular, left-aligned look to a squarish setup, with the periscope telephoto tucked away in the top-left corner. The LED flash has also been repositioned within the camera module, unlike its previous external placement.

A third image offers a glimpse of the device’s thin profile but lacks a speaker grille, possibly indicating it’s a different prototype. Another leak by Alvin (@sondesix) compares the device’s thickness with the original Oppo Find N, which was notably thick at 15.9mm. The upcoming model is said to be just 9.2mm thick, beating the OnePlus Open’s 11.7mm and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s 10.5mm. If true, this would make the Oppo foldable the slimmest on the market, provided it maintains durability.
