In the tactical shooter game Deadlock, character selection plays a crucial role in determining the outcome of matches. With a varied set of characters, there are multiple ways to tackle fights or map control as well as provide team support. Below is a rundown of the best characters in Deadlock, and what strengths make them fit into well-composed teams:

Best Characters in Deadlock as of 2024

Dynamo (Controller)

Dynamo excels at disrupting enemy motion and rhythm. His “Static Cage” ability enchants an area of the map and forces enemies to make a tough decision, as enemies caught in that location will deal little damage or suffer crippling slow. His ultimate, “Storm Surge”, calls down a massive electrical storm, covering a large area and disrupting opponents’ positioning, making Dynamo essential for players who want to dictate the flow of battle. He is among the best characters in Deadlock.

Shiv (Duelist)

Shiv is perfect for players who enjoy aggressive, close-range combat. His ‘Blink Strike’ gives him the ability to suddenly appear behind enemies and damage them out of nowhere, providing a surprise factor.

Blood Frenzy makes this a self-fulfilling prophecy, making him move fast and hit harder with every takedown thus transforming Shiv into an even more frightening foe the longer he gets to fight. The final catalyst for his fight to the death is Ravage, a whirlwind of melee strikes that destroys in tight quarters—another reason why Shiv excels up close and personal.

Haze (Infiltrator)

Haze, the master of deceit and stealth. Use his “Smoke Screen” ability to block sightlines and have him or even the whole team reposition or ambush. Haze can utilize his “Silent Step” (which is portrayed as harp music) and sneak around without being captured on the map, making him an ideal flanker. His ultimate “Phantom Veil” gives every member of the team a short invisibility duration which allows them to go on aggressively at the same time or to be more strategic and get out safely. He is one of the best characters in Deadlock.

Kelvin (Tank)

Kelvin is a tank that can soak up damage and disrupt the enemy line. Ice Wall is one of his abilities that blocks the path of enemies, as well as creating cover for him and any teammates. His Glacial Slam also sends a shockwave which deals damage to and slows all enemies in that area.

Kelvin’s pinnacle, Frozen Fury creates an unkillable damage sponge and slows enemies to a crawl in large fights as the ultimate becomes very difficult to avoid. A top choice for your typical walking wall of meat who loves standing in the front lines, and manipulating enemy movement.

Pocket (Engineer)

Pocket is a gadget-summoning utility specialist who can change the course of battle. His Turret Deploy launches an auto-turret that can deliver support fire or hold down flanks. Pocket’s “Gizmo Grenade” turns off the abilities of enemy Agents within an area, disrupting their strategies.

For his ultimate, the Fortress Mode ability buffs all of Thermy’s gadgets, making his turret hit harder and explosives more potent. Pocket is perfect for those who love to help their team with tech & tactics. The list of the best characters in Deadlock sums up here.
