Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has already got people excited for the upcoming Singham Again, with an announcement that his original hit film Singham will be re-released across India. The 2011 blockbuster will be re-released in theatres on Friday, October 18th, giving audiences the chance to experience the beginning of India’s first cop cinematic universe in cinemas.

The film is a remake of the 2010 Telugu-language action ink Bhaskar Rao Singam directed by Suriya. The film features Ajay Devgn in the titular role of Bajirao Singham, a courageous and honest police officer who fights corruption and injustice with similar blades. Kajal Aggarwal is seen as the main heroine and it’s a deadly reunion for Prakash Raj too who played the villain in the original version of the Tamil film itself. Singham was the opening gambit of Shetty’s cop-land and great action set pieces with dollops of emotion along with memorable one-liners post-movie have stayed on the lips of the audiences.
Singham Again, a direct sequel to Singham Returns (2014) will be the fifth action-packed installment in Shetty’s cop franchise. It boasts an ensemble cast featuring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. The movie was initially announced in 2017 as Singham 3, with the official title revealed in December 2022.
