East Bengal have officially parted ways with head coach Carles Cuadrat after a dismal start to the season. The Torch Bearers have endured three defeats in as many games in the beginning of the ISL season, and have now parted ways with the Spaniard.
Cuadrat ended the club’s 12-year trophy drought earlier this year by winning the Kalinga Super Cup. However, he was unable to lead the team into the AFC Champions League 2 group stage, and after several consecutive defeats, he has been relieved of his duties.

The club has announced that Bino George will be stepping up as the interim head coach in the meantime. They have started the process to sign a new head coach, and will make announcements in due course.
“The Emami East Bengal FC management requests the Red & Gold Brigade fans to support its interim Head Coach Bino George and the team to deliver better results,” the club added in its official statement.
The club heavily supported Cuadrat in the transfer window this summer, but the results have not been very positive so far. While some fans might seem the decision a harsh one, a section of the fans were heard chanting “go back,” at the Spaniard. And now, they have seemingly got their wish.
