A still from the video posted by Realme

The Realme 2 has been launched a month back at Rs.8,999 and is a huge hit. With a notch on the top and with a premium design and with dual cameras it has made its mark in the budget range. Many consumers may have complained about the Snapdragon 450, but many of them are happy with that in the price segment.

Realme’s main motto was to challenge Redmi and focus on what the youth wants, so they chose Redmi’s path and brought the Realme 2 first. Now, with a lot of suspense and speculation, they are to bring the new Realme 2 Pro on September 27th.

Today, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth revealed the smartphone with the Technical Guru Mr Gaurav Chaudhary and hinted some of its specs like the Snapdragon 660, water-drop notch display and mentioned the price to be in the mid-range segment.

Well, with some confirmed leaks let’s discuss more the specs of the new Realme 2 Pro:

  • FHD+ resolution
  • 91% Screen to Body Ratio
  • Glass back design
  • Snapdragon 660 processor
  • Adreno 512 GPU

Realme 2 Pro as a whole

Well, it seems that Realme has been planning big and just before Dusshera they will just bang the market with a blow. The Realme 2 Pro will feature a huge 6.3-inch display with the water-notch that you see on the Oppo F9 Pro.

The screen seems to be crisp enough with an FHD+ display and with 91% screen-to-body ratio, the smartphone looks elegant and the glass back finishes on the smartphone just makes it better.

This time forgetting the MediaTek processors, they have chosen to go for the best in the mid-range – the Snapdragon 660 that features a load of AI customizations. Among all other AI features, you can expect improved performance and battery optimizations. More AI capabilities will be revealed on the day of launch.

Coming to the cameras, expectedly there will be a dual rear camera with 16MP primary and 2MP depth sensor. The front camera this time will feature 16MP with some great AI capabilities. With the Snapdragon 660, you can expect better image quality and enhanced camera effects.

As because the youth are certainly focussing on gaming these days on smartphones, this Realme 2 Pro will have Adreno 512 GPU that will help you get a better gaming experience. With a newer processor and new GPU than the previous Helio P60, a great performance bump is also expected.

As for the UI, the Realme 2 Pro will have the same Color OS 5.2 as you get on Oppo F9 Pro with Android Oreo. The exact battery is not known, but you can expect a large battery as you get on Realme 2. But unlike Oppo F9 Pro, you won’t get any fast charge support. Also, there’s the much-needed Fingerprint sensor this time.

There will be two versions of the smartphone – one with 4GB RAM and one with 3GB RAM with microSD card support. For now this much is known which nearly confirmed to true.

Well, we aren’t sure about whether there will be a 6GB RAM variant as seen previously on Realme 1. The smartphone will clash with the Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone Redmi Note 6 Pro.
