The Huawei Mate XT is notable for its innovative foldable display, which unfolds into three sections. This design approach aligns with prior leaks and confirms the phone’s advanced foldable technology. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, has described the Mate XT as the culmination of five years of “persistence and investment,” transforming “science fiction into reality.” This statement underscores Huawei’s dedication to advancing smartphone technology.

It’s rumored that the Mate XT will come with a 10-inch inner screen comprised of two inward-folding panels and an outer display incorporated in between by means of the double-hinge system. This configuration is expected to elevate device utility and user experience. We are also expecting a hole-punch cutout for the front camera on the far-left display. The processor powering the phone is expected to be in the Kirin 9 series, which may also find use in the Huawei Mate 70 series.

The Mate XT will also see a bump in AI technology capabilities, which have been significant across the Huawei brand of devices. The September 10 launch will also feature other significant announcements, including the Luxeed R7 and a new smart car model, highlighting Huawei’s broadening product portfolio and innovative aspirations.
