Design and Build Quality
The boAt Rockerz 255 Z Plus has a typical neckband design. The material of the neckband feels good to touch and doesn’t fell like cheap plastic. The wires are made of elastic type material and are tangle free which is great for everyday use.
It has magnetic power buds which prevents them from tangling. You can also attach the buds to disconnect them and turn off and then separate them again to turn on instantly. It also has 4 physical buttons. One is for turn on/off, one is a multi function button and the other two is for volume up and down.
Connectivity
boAt has now finally introduced the much awaited boAt Hearables App which has been long demanded by boAt fans as it will give them full customizability of the audio device. You need to download the boAt Hearables App and connect your boAt Rockerz 255 Z Plus.
You will get option to customize the sound, touch and system. You can turn on/off spatial audio as well as multipoint connect as this neckband offers dual pairing, thanks to its bluetooth v5.3. You can also customize the multi function button from this app and set two features as per your choice for single tap and double tap function.
It also has Google Fast Pair to give you a seamless experience and it has a range of upto 10 m.
Battery Backup
The boAt Rockerz 255 Z Plus packs in a huge battery, maybe the biggest battery in this segment. It offers upto 50 hours of playback. It also has boAt’s ASAP Charge which can charge your neckband instantly for uniterrupted use. It can give you upto 10 hours of playtime after just 10 minutes of charging.
The neckband does live up to its claims, as it keeps on running for long hours as you lose tab of its charging time. It easily goes on for 40-45 hours and you don’t need to keep charging frequently. You can enjoy your music tension free.
Audio Quality
The audio quality is on par for this price range. The boAt Rockerz 255 Z Plus does offer something extra in terms of boAt Spatial Audio. It will give you a threatre like 3D surrond sound experience. However, turning on the spatial audio feature does take a toll in its battery life. The overall audio quality is good and you can’t expect it to be much better than this in this price range.
The call quality has improved quite a bit thanks to its AI-ENx Technology. The innovative AI-ENx tech filters out background noise so that your voice is heard clearly whether you are in a busy street, cafe, or packed room. It will definitely help you to attend calls without background disturbances.
You can also play games seamlessly with this neckband as the BEAST mode’s low latency of up to 65 ms removes lag for realistic gaming experience.
Verdict
The boAt Rockerz 255 Z Plus is an affordable neckband option for the Indian users who will primarily use it to attend calls or use it as their travel buddy for long hours. The sound quality could have been a bit better, but you can’t complain much taking into account that it is priced at a sweet spot of Rs 1,299 and the overall features which it offers, absolutely justifies buying it.
