Mass Production of iPhone 16 Displays Intensified Ahead of Launch

Apple published that the suppliers have collaborated intensively working on mass-producing iPhone 16 OLED panels to support launching a smartphone to increase sales in September. The two Korean companies reportedly started making OLED displays for the iPhone 16 in small volume back in June, before increasing production during July.

More About iPhone 16 Display Production

According to reports, the shipment forecast of Apple iPhone 16 for this year is about 90 million units, and there will be approximately more than the expected quantity of OLED panels with a production capacity of around 30% which is around 120 million panels. Samsung Display is expected to supply boards for approximately 80 million units, and LG Display is expected to supply about 43 million units by the end of this year. Both companies are on track with their production timelines to meet these targets.

These panels are being delivered to factories in Apple’s supply chain, where iPhone 16 models will be assembled later for shipment. Apple typically releases new iPhones in September, and the company even announced an unusual iPhone event to be held on Tuesday, September 10. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and two specific versions of the original will have similar appearances to the iPhone 15 family while in presentation though coming with slimmer ready sizes according to Mac Otakara who is a supplier channel.

The iPhone 16 Pro will sport a 6.3-inch display (up from 6.1 inches), and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch display (up from 6.7 inches). The standard iPhone 16 models will maintain the same display sizes, with the iPhone 16 at 6.1 inches and the iPhone 16 Plus at 6.7 inches. Other rumored features for the iPhone 16 lineup include a new “Capture” button for taking photos and videos in landscape mode, faster A-series chips, camera enhancements, Wi-Fi 7, and faster 5G modems for some models.
