Samsung Galaxy Ring Launched: Health Tracking, AI Features, and Long Battery Life

Samsung introduced its Galaxy Ring on July 10th at the Unpacked event in Paris. The new Smart Ring from the Korean company shows several health and sleep monitoring functions. The ring is available in three colors, Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold and is $399 about 34000 INR. It goes up for pre-order in the select markets on 10 July before hitting general availability on 24 July. The Galaxy Ring is available in nine sizes ranging from 5-13 and even comes with a size kit to assist users in finding the right fit. With 8MB of storage, the watch has a PPG (Photoplethysmography) sensor to monitor heart irregularities along with temperature and accelerometer for holistic health functions. The ring will connect to the Samsung Health app.

The Galaxy Ring also comes with energy-efficient features found on recent Samsung phones like Energy Score and Wellness Tips. This tool makes amends in the form of detailed health reports with different metrics and suggestions. Sleep AI can tell wearers about their sleep patterns, helping them to achieve more and better quality of sleep. That covers Sleep Score, snoring analysis along with things like movement while you’re sleeping, sleep latency, and heart and respiratory rate. The ring also includes Cycle Tracking for menstruation health utilizing skin temperature tracking as well.

Galaxy Ring prompts heart rate notifications with Heart Rate Alert in the Samsung Health app. In addition, it has Auto Workouts Detection and Idle Alerts. The ring can also be used to click photos or silence alarms on Galaxy smartphones that are paired with a few taps. The ring can be found using the Find My Ring feature on Samsung Find.

The phone is waterproof and sweatproof with an IP68 rating. Made from titanium grade 5 and features Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity The ring works with Samsung Galaxy smartphones operating on Android 11.0 or newer and having at least 1.5GB of RAM.

The base model of the Galaxy Ring in size 5 has an 18mAh battery, while the larger size 13 houses a 23.5mAh battery. The ring includes a specially designed charging case with LED indicators to show charging status. The case has a 361mAh battery and provides up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. A 30-minute charge can fill the battery from zero to 40 percent.

The Galaxy Ring measures 7.0×2.6mm, with the size 5 option weighing 2.3 grams and the size 13 weighing 3.0 grams. The charging case dimensions are 48.9×48.9×24.51mm, and it weighs 61.3 grams.
