Why the Oppo F27 Pro+ Might Not Be Worth Your Money?

Oppo F27 Pro+ 5G claims to be the first Indian phone to come with an IP69 rating, it has a very rugged looking body along with a premium leather finish. It has those great cameras, an impressive display, and a good enough battery life for most folks, but there are a few reasons you might want to think twice before buying this phone.

Why You Should Not Buy Oppo F27 Pro+

High Price for Mid-Range Specifications

The Oppo F27 Pro+ 5G comes in two variants: the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs ₹27,999; and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option is priced at ₹29,999. While the phone does bring in some attractive features, the cost of this smartphone goes way overboard if compared to other phones in the market providing similar or even better specifications. The F27 Pro+ 5G is less competitive, with plenty of options in the same space that offer better value for money.

Mediocre Processor

For performance, the Oppo F27 Pro+ 5G is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor with Mali G68 MC4 GPU. This configuration is enough to handle basic tasks and light gaming, but quickly falls behind in performance when compared to better chipsets from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 series and even MediaTek’s other Dimensity processors. But for anyone who’s looking for flagship-level performance, the F27 Pro+ 5G might be a little bit lag behind.

Software Experience

The Oppo F27 Pro+ 5G runs on Android 14 with ColorOS 14, which might not be the software experience for everyone. It comes with the ColorOS, which is feature-rich but known for its heavy customization and bloatware, ultimately impacting the user experience. Moreover, Oppo also has a bit of a reputation of not being quite as quick with updates as some of its competition, which may be a deal-breaker for heavily software-focused users.

Limited Camera Features

The phone does come with some niche AI camera modes such as AI Eraser and AI Smart Image Matting, but they are still not enough to answer for such a limited set of camera hardware. Users who prioritize photography might find these software features insufficient compared to the more robust camera systems offered by other brands.
