All About ARM CEO Forecasting Market Growth

In 2024, the world saw the AI PC era beginning along with the abundant use of ARM processors. The variety of keynotes at Computex 2024 from the likes of Qualcomm and other tech manufacturers highlighted just how important these new chips will be to the next era of computing. This began with ARM-based Microsoft Copilot+ AI PCs ARM’s CEO, Rene Haas, emphasized in an interview with Reuters that the company’s chips are set to wield significant influence in the future landscape.

According to Haas, this was because Microsoft had stated that it was committed to the ARM ecosystem in getting devices onto the architecture. While Microsoft‘s Copilot+ certified PCs have tapped into Microsoft’s AI obsession, they have also given ARM-based chips, like the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite ecosystem, a strong software base on which to grow.

This dovetails with ARM CEO’s assertion that the architecture was ready for a larger slice of the market thus matching the performance of today’s top CPUs, including those in Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon models. The claim to fame of these chips also lies with record-breaking neural processing unit (NPU) performance numbers aimed at besting all of its contenders in AI computing functions. Additionally, Qualcomm’s introduction of a new desktop CPU series, the “Snapdragon X,” underscores the company’s commitment to revolutionizing markets through ARM-based innovations.

While Apple’s Mac lineup holds a significant share of the market, Qualcomm-powered products are expected to play a substantial role in further establishing ARM’s dominance over other architectures in the future. The competition between x86 and ARM architectures continues to evolve, with ARM steadily widening the gap between the two technologies.
