Covid-19 pandemic has become a reason for the economical crisis all over the world. Many football clubs are facing a problem in this regard. Some top clubs like Barcelona are also on that list as well.
According to reports of Marca, FC Barcelona is in some financial crisis which makes its board take some major steps. According to reports FC Barcelona has decided to pay cut all of its employees by 30%. It may become 25% later as well.
The reports show that the debt of the club has increased and almost doubled this year than the last year. The debt was about €217 million last year. It has become €488 million this season.
Club’s wage bill is also reduced this year. Club’s first-team squad has been reduced down this year, with a reported €80m off the wage bill. But that is surely not enough. So, the club is going to take these major steps.
But the real problem has arisen from another place. According to reports 4 of the FC Barcelona’s squad are not on the list pay cut! Those are Frenkie de Jong, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Clement Lenglet, and Gerard Pique.
But the question is why? FC Barcelona has offered a new contract to these four players and all of them have already signed the new contract. This is the reason for their absence from that list. Some fans are also not happy about the contracts given to them. This discrimination can also harm the environment of the dressing room.
