The Nothing Industrial Design Team in King’s Cross, London, has crafted this special edition by focusing on primary colours—red, yellow, and blue. For the first time, all three colours are combined in one piece of Nothing hardware. Previously, these colours were individually featured in various Nothing products: red in the right earbud of audio devices, yellow in the new Ear (a), and blue in the Phone (2a) Blue. Now, they come together harmoniously in the Phone (2a) Special Edition.
Design Philosophy
Adam Bates, Design Director at Nothing, expressed his excitement about this new release: “We are very happy to unveil Phone (2a) Special Edition. The first product to explore our palette of the primary colours; red, blue and yellow. Its overall aesthetic references some of our design heroes from the past, whilst creating a new expression for a smartphone. Elevating a functional device into a striking piece of art.”

Nothing continues to push boundaries with industry-first features. When paired with any Nothing or CMF by Nothing audio product, Phone (2a) offers seamless ChatGPT integration. Additionally, new ChatGPT widgets provide quick access directly from the home screen. Earlier this month, Nothing also announced that Phone (2a) users could access the Android 15 Developer Preview.
