Let’s have a look into more details : T20 World Cup Warm Up Match
Warm Up Match Details
India’s preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024 includes only one warm-up fixture due to the team’s tight schedule following the IPL 2024. Initially, there was speculation about multiple warm up games, but the latest reports confirm that India will play just one match against Bangladesh. This match is significant as it will help the team adjust to the conditions in the USA and fine-tune their strategies ahead of the tournament.
Venue: Eisenhower Park, New York
The warm up match against Bangladesh will be held at Eisenhower Park in New York. This venue is also set to host the much anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash on June 9, making it a key location for Indian cricket fans. The choice of Eisenhower Park is strategic, as it allows Team India to acclimate to the playing conditions without extensive travel, avoiding a trip to Florida for just one game.
Team India’s Schedule and Departure
Team India is expected to depart for the T20 World Cup in two batches. The first group, comprising players whose teams have been eliminated from the IPL 2024, will leave on May 25. The second batch, including players involved in the IPL finals, will depart on May 26. This staggered departure ensures that all players have adequate rest and preparation time before their first World Cup game on June 5 against Ireland.

The ICC has recently announced the complete schedule for the T20 World Cup warm up matches, with 17 out of the 20 participating teams set to play at least one match. The warm up fixtures span several venues in the USA and the West Indies, providing teams with ample opportunity to prepare for the tournament.
