Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is gearing up to introduce another smartphone called the CMF Phone (1), which is expected to be a more affordable alternative with somewhat downgraded features compared to the current Nothing Phone lineup. Based on industry sources including facts made public by 91mobiles, the CMF Phone 1 might turn out to be a tempting alternative for price-sensitive customers.
As reported, the CMF Phone 1 will retail at around ₹12,000 in India, whereas the Nothing Phone price starts at ₹23,999. Consequently, the cost difference unveiled by the source implies that CMF’s first-hand smartphone can outprice the same offerings of Nothing by a very noticeable margin, thus, capturing the market of price-savvy consumers.
The Upcoming CMF Phone (1)
Leaks on the CMF Phone indicate that in terms of design, the CMF Phone (1) might come with a plastic body, a prudent choice for an affordable unit aiming to cut down the cost of producing a pricy glass back. Furthermore, the front of the phone could be protected by some Gorilla Glass — maybe 3 or 4, either way offering moderate shatter and scratch resistance.
From an aesthetics point of view, the CMF Phone is rumored to come in three different color variations — orange, white, and black, deviating consumers to pick the best color for them. In terms of specifications, the initial leaks suggest that the CMF Phone 1 might have a 6.5-inch display, and whether or not this is ample or enough screen estate is debatable.
While details regarding the camera setup remain somewhat ambiguous, it’s speculated to feature a single rear camera configuration. Under the hood, the device may be powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 5G chipset, potentially providing users with decent performance for everyday tasks and light multitasking.
On the software side of things, the CMF Phone may come with Nothing OS, and it is suggested that not all features might work out of the box during the first rollout. Meanwhile, the company could make it up by providing three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates, meaning that users will have some updated software down the line. Leaks have also pointed towards the CMF Phone having a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, which allows users to power their phone all day long without much necessity to recharge.
