Samsung launches new PRO Plus and EVO Plus SD Cards with up to 256GB storage

The South Korean giant has recently launched two of its new SD cards –  PRO Plus and EVO Plus in the American market. So, the US people can now enjoy Samsung’s two new lines of SD cards featuring exceptional speeds and improved durability.

Both content creators and general consumers can enjoy working across a wide range of devices, including DSLRs, mirrorless and compact cameras, camcorders, and PCs as well. The new PRO Plus SD cards offer sequential read and write speeds of up to 100MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively. 

Whereas the EVO Plus series of SD cards also supports transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s. These SD cards help professional photographers, cinematographers and YouTubers with outstanding sequential write performance that enables flawless 4K video recording and burst shots.

“For years, consumers around the world have trusted Samsung to deliver high-performance memory cards in a variety of capacities that meet their unique needs,” said Dr. Mike Mang, vice president of the Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung has gone beyond that with the PRO Plus and EVO Plus SD cards, providing additional layers of protective measures to withstand intensive usage and the most rugged conditions.”

Each of these two new SD cards series will be available from 32GB to 256GB and support 4K UHD and Full HD video recording. Samsung says that all components and firmware inside the PRO Plus and EVO Plus are designed and produced in-house to ensure quality that consumers can trust.

Targeted towards professionals, both the PRO Plus and EVO Plus SD cards are both durable to help people capture more moments in extreme conditions with their comprehensive seven-proof protection.

As per Samsung’s article, in addition to extreme conditions, these SD cards are resistant to water, temperature, x-rays, magnets, and shocks, also now being drop-proof and waterproof as well, withstanding up to five-meter drop as well as up to 10,000 swipes. Both of the lineups come with a 10-year limited warranty, which indeed says how much durable these new SD cards are.
